500-Ton “Giant” Goes Global: Nucleon Boat Transporter Now Serving Malaysia
In January 2026, Nucleon’s independently developed MGK500 boat transporter successfully completed its overseas delivery, passed on-site installation and commissioning in Malaysia, and has officially entered service. This project marks another key breakthrough for Nucleon in international markets, following several previous exports of large-scale handling equipment.
Built for Heavy Boat Handling
Launching, transporting, and storing large boats have long been challenges for shipyards and repair facilities. The MGK500 was designed specifically for this niche application. It is not a simple scaling-up of a conventional crane, but a completely specialized system covering power, control, steering, and hydraulics.

Key Capabilities
Power System: Fully hydraulic drive paired with a diesel engine ensures continuous and stable operation even in outdoor areas without electricity.
Synchronous Lifting: A unique multi-point synchronous control system, combined with real-time feedback, allows dozens of lifting points to move in unison – preventing hull damage from uneven force.
500-Ton Capacity: The reinforced structure handles everything from medium yachts to large workboats.
Four Steering Modes: Supports straight, crab, Ackermann, and 360° in-place rotation. The articulated frame design provides 4% gradeability for narrow or uneven yard surfaces.
Intelligent Hydraulic Hoisting: Load-sensing hydraulic technology automatically adjusts power output based on actual load – optimizing both lifting precision and energy efficiency.
High-Precision Control: Equipped with an intelligent control terminal, operators can precisely manage each movement, significantly reducing physical workload.
Full Process Coverage: A single machine handles dry dock launching, in-yard transport, and re-entry into water – no equipment changeovers needed.
Significance of the Export
The successful deployment of the MGK500 in Malaysia demonstrates Nucleon’s design and manufacturing capabilities in large-tonnage, specialized handling equipment. It also provides a valuable reference case for further expansion into Southeast Asia and global markets. Nucleon states it will continue to focus on “specialized handling,” launching more large-tonnage solutions for different working conditions to serve customers worldwide.
